Haha!!! This Is Awesome!!!

Let me repeat myself....This is awesome!!!

You did a great job writing the music to correlate to your news article. And the atmosphere in this song is superb!!

I love how simple this song is too. It really fits in with the entire atmosphere and timbre of the tune. All the audio files at the end was a great touch as well. Just amazing on about every level.

It just really felt like the music told the story perfectly, and that was the point here.

5/5 and 10/10 overall. This has been favorited!

Awesome, thanks! :D

Yeeee-Yaaaaaa!!!!

LOOOOOOOOOOVE IT!!! Great cover of the song in every way!

I love the reverb and echo you added to the vocals. You really added a new dimension to them, yet did not mangle them in the process. Not easy to do for sure. The amazing thing, is you made them fit in with your instrumentation. Once again, not an easy thing to do.

I love the composition of this song. It has a lot of color and texture to it. The oboe right before the 1:00 mark is wonderful. It was the perfect choice in this song as the second lead. The oboe just compliments the woman's voice so wonderfully, and fits with the rest of the song admirably.

I would definitely like to acknowledge the beautiful piano part. You did a very nice job writing the piano part, which as you know I am rather picky about. It has a very wonderful tone as well, which is oh so important.

This has such a warm quality to it. But that is pretty typical of your compositions. That being said, it definitely has that TestSubjectA touch that makes me fall in love with it immediately. I never thought I would quite as dark a rendition of this song as this is. Just wonderful all around my friend.

5/5 and 10/10 overall. This has been favorited!

Aeris responds:

Lol, thanks again sir gravey, i was actual thinking of transcribing the piano part, would you like? I'll ask in PM too lol

Yes indeed, quite a new dimension... I wasn't quite going for that but i guess that "inner composer" opened up too much here, which isn't a bad thing i don't think.

It looks like i'm on a streak as far as being favorited with you xD

'tis good

Haha!

You are right, this is chaotic. Not a terrible voice acting submission at all, actually a pretty good one.

Although, it is hard to focus in on the quality of one voice at a time with them going all at once the whole time. But I do appreciate why you did it this way, so I won't hold that against you too much.

I think there is a pretty good variation of voices and even accents. That seems to be the hardest thing for people to get right when voice acting. You did a pretty solid job to say the least.

I like this, especially considering the purpose behind it.

5/5 and 9/10 overall. Really good voice acting submission if I may say so myself.

Well, well, well, Gravey1 to the rescue------>
I'm so glad you gave me a chance. It means alot! You're such a positive guy here, you know that? *reaches out to give you AND Sly a double-sided hug*
It really does sound about a billion times better on headphones as opposed to speakers. I split channeled the two older (Tina and Todd) kids and THEY are the most overwhelming.
Solid, eh? I like that! I did a pretty solid job. I like the sound of that.
*has to walk outside, for my head is expanding enormously*
Maybe next time I submit something you would critique that too?
*looks at you concerned, as if I am asking for a kidney or something* I hope to hear some more tunes from YOU too soon! Sweet, sweet man. Until next time. . .

Take care, be good and stay true to Sly and your indepth reviews.period

Interesting...

I understand where you get the "warm and fuzzy" vibe from this. It does have a tingly sensation on the ears, that is for sure. I don't know the original song this is based off, so I can't really say how much this resembles it.

But as a single song on it's own, this seems like it would fit the ending of a childs show. Or even maybe a happy dream ending of some sort, or just a happy dream for that matter. It does have a happy otherworldly flavor to it. And that is a cool effect every now and then in my opinion.

This isn't exactly a masterpiece, or a great composition by any means. But it fits a niche very nicely, and one that isn't very prevelant here on Newgrounds. So you get kudos for originality.

No I have one thing in particular I don't like. When it hits those high notes right before the one minute mark, I don't like the space in between them. If you could get the notes to blur into each other more when they are hitting those high notes that would be perfect.

The space in between them when the note and reverb dies out is not pleasing. Everything needs to flow together in this song, and the breaks in the line there does nothing good for this tune.

But this is a special little tune you have by all means. Very neat and unique.

5/5 and 9/10 overall. Mainly because of how unique it is. I liked it a lot.

Super-Assassin responds:

Hey thanks man
Yeah i wasn't planning on making it a masterpiece
I just felt like making a little happy song

(btw, good advice)

Sweet!

This is pretty interesting. For only 25 minutes put into it, this is really cool and flows pretty well. Now that being said, some things could definitely use improvement.

It seems a lot of the sounds are stuck in the dead center of the panning spectrum. You should experiment a little with the panning. Or I could be an idiot and be completely wrong. It just sounds that way to me when I listen to this for the second time.

Also, the synths you came up with are really cool sounding. They have a nice texture for this song, and you chose/created/mangled them appropriately. Very nice work there.

I think percussion leaves a little to be desired. Mainly it isn't all that punchy. Try compressing and EQ-ing every drum separately to get that extra boost of sound and color from them. If you already did that, you should make them a bit more punchier than you already have. That would help a lot in my opinion.

It is a cool little tune. Good, but not quite great yet.

4/5 and 8/10 overall. Solid job on this.

-Gravey-

king-blue responds:

absolutely correct on EQing the drums, and your right about the panning also literally when i completed all the patterns and ordered them into song i just left it as it was but i will definitely take your advice thanks man.

Very Cool...

This is great, and I like it a lot. One thing though, you need to automate the delay you have going on. It has a great effect in some areas, but not such a good one in others. So automating it to be present some of the time, but not always would go a long way into making this sound better.

Some areas it just becomes muddy with the echo. Other than that though, this is really great. Almost perfect to my ears, just tweak the delay you are using.

Oh and the new intro section is AWESOME!

5/5 and 9/10 overall. Very nicely done bud!

-Gravey-

Emuzin responds:

WooHoo....someone finally gets it. Thank You for the great review...again. I know what you mean about the delay. I took the original burned version and broke it down in the mixer. Burning the instrumental by itself again and made two other separate parts...then pieced them altogether. Then I added to the pre-edit to get the new lengthier piece. There was a drum slam at the end that missed the edit...I have no idea how that happened, but it is so cool you liked it.

Oh Yea...

I like this one more than the other song you just posted. This really has something to it that really makes me wanna sit back on new back porch in Florida and take in the evening. I might just do that if I get my grad schoolwork done soon enough. :-)

This just has a wonderful aura about it my friend. Simply wonderful feel and really picks up my spirit on this day. And I wasn't even in a bad mood or anything, it enhances my mood even when I'm in a good one. That is the mark of a good song.

5/5 and 10/10 overall. This has been favorited!

Boux responds:

cool! thanks alot for the real nice review again, its a new guitar tuning i was trying out , gives a peaceful mood, also put really deep sounding strings for this one.

Tuning: Eb Ab C# F Bb C# with capo on 5th fret

:-)

Yet another solid song by one of my favorite Negrounds artists/friends. :-)

Great stuff bud, really great stuff.

5/5 and 10/10 overall.

-Gravey-

YAY!!!!

I've been waiting for this bad boy to get posted, and I can say I'm not the least disappointed.

I simply love everything about this song. The beats are pretty bad ass and punchy, and it definitely has that touch of yours marked all over it. You have such a unique and awesome style my friend, great stuff.

You are probably the most original composer on Newgrounds because of the way you write. I'm sure others would argue, but only because they actually don't know what all goes into this. I know all the work that you put into these songs, and how you use things like the recordings of your friends talking to make many of the samples for your songs. Ingenuity at it's finest.

Great stuff all around in your music and this is no exception.

5/5 and 10/10 overall. This has been favorited!

InvisibleObserver responds:

Yay indeed. I couldn't be happier with the results. :)

Awesome!!!

I love it! This is so groovy and has such a wonderful rhythm in the percussion. The percussion sounds so good too, great job with the percussion in every way really.

My main issue is the length. This could really be expanded a lot if you ask me. Maybe introduce a bridge and second chorus or verse. But as it is, it's still pretty awesome!

5/5 and 9/10 overall. Great job here!

Emuzin responds:
