i really liked some of the music that you had deleted and when you did you got rid of half my favorites...

thanks alot man

First off, I made a news post about it and left it up well over a month before even asking Tom Fulp to delete my songs. And it was probably two or three more weeks after I asked him before he was able to get around to it. So if you stopped by this page once every two months at the least you would have seen that I was deleting nearly everything and could have downloaded any songs you wanted before they were gone.

Second, it's not my responsibility nor obligation to make sure everyone has a copy of my music. If you liked them so much you should have downloaded them when you first heard them. Nowhere in the audio portal rules does it state that once a song is submitted it must stay there forever.

Third, I make no money whatsoever from this site. Whereas with my label I'll actually be able to make a side income to compensate my day job (or lack of one.) :-P Thus from a personal and professional view it made no sense whatsoever to leave the songs up. Thousands of people were able to listen, download, and enjoy my music. I think that speaks for itself.

So in short don't get mad at me because you were to lazy to download the songs when they were up. It's not my responsibility to double check that sort of thing.

Seriously, after getting about 100 or more pms whining about this very thing it's getting annoying.

Hey Gravey, you know a guy named Danman87? (I think that's his name on NG) Anyways, he's been trying to delete some of his work here as well, but when he sent a PM to Tom saying that he wishes to delete his work, he's never gotten back to him and his works never been deleted.

I feel sorry for him since he really wants his work off this site for various reasons, but I don't really know how to help him out. What do you think he should do? Could you send Tom a PM telling him about Danman87? (The guy who composed Entering the Stronghold, With Gun an Crucifix, etc.)

I'm just a fan of him so I want to help him out on this problem. I'd appreciate it if you might help as well.

:P

Yes I know who DanMan87 is. As for his situation, there is nothing I could do about it. He simply needs to send Tom Fulp a private message specifying which songs he wants deleted and why.

From what I understand popular songs that require admins to delete them are not deleted just on an artist's whim. There needs to be a sensible reason for removing the songs. Just wanting the songs deleted is not enough. Because when he uploaded his audio he knew that it would become part of the public archives.

If a song isn't very popular and hasn't had very many listens then it is open to the artist to delete. But if a lot of people have listened to a song and it has become quite popular than from what I understand Newgrounds has a legal right not to remove them.

This is just what I've been led to believe is the case though. So there is nothing I could do for Danman. It is up to Tom Fulp as to whether or not his music gets deleted.

Dude you're awesome, youve answered every single question on here!

Haha! I try. :-P

I wanna break into your house and steal your computer. No, no seriously, the stuff you have is amazing and I'm rather jealous of it. How much would you say you've spent on everything?

And you're 24, which means you're most likely out of college. What did you study? O: Hell, what do you do for a living, good sir?

I've spent a lot of money on my gear. And I'm not done in any way shape or form. There is still a ton of stuff I need for my home studio.

As for schooling. I went to Ohio University and earned a bachelors degree in music production. I'm currently in graduate school to earn my MBA. And after that I plan on going to culinary school to get a formal education in the culinary arts.

In order to support myself financially I am currently taking care of an elderly relative's estate. And my bills and needs are covered so long as I do my job and make sure his estate is in top condition. The main thing is making sure the orchard doesn't become overgrown. Outside of that I make a bit of money on the side with my music, which helps to pay for some of my gear.

-Gravey-

Thank you for the answers~

Sure thing.

-Gravey-

Oh, Okay. I didn't know that. I'm sorry if I seemed to impose myself on you. :P

I can understand it when a composer wishes to delete his pieces off of NG. Thanks.

Oh I didn't feel like you were imposing yourself on me. I was more than happy to answer your questions. :-)

-Gravey-

Oh well... :x... i guess not bein see any of your more music. Cept for the fact i got a lot of it on MP3.... XD!!!! You are a great artist, listining right now to OT3. It's incredible.

Glad you enjoy my music bud. :-)

-Gravey-

I forgot what gear you use. Can you tell me again? :x

Anymore I use EastWest programs for the most part. Symphonic Orchestra, Symphonic Choirs, RA, Ministry of Rock, Silk, Stormdrum 2, Goliath, Pianos Gold, and Voices of Passion.

There are other things, but lately those products have been dominating my DAW.

-Gravey-

Thanks man. You're one of the cooles people on newgrounds. I have popular connections all over the site, jazza, james lee, waterflame... well i wouldnt call them connections, we just chat sometimes. Also riftmaster, and i'm about to make a connection with a flash programmer.

No problem. Glad to help.

-Gravey-

I checked out the eastwest site, and jeez, that is one HELL of a program ya got.

Haha! Yea. Their products are very exquisite to be honest.

-Gravey-

its a shame that i found your music after the deletion really...
music like yours is really quite an inspiration for my own music, would have been nice if i had been able to listen to more of your creations
well, too bad... thanks for the few still here though...
wish i had your skill already

The audio I deleted was nothing like what I have posted on this account now. It was made using a computer with less than half a gig of ram, and with really awful soundfonts. This really stifled my creativity, and when I was able to buy a new computer and upgrade my gear I decided that keeping the old music was not wise. Because it was not a reflection of my skills as a composer, but more so of the limits I put on me due to lack of decent gear.

So truthfully it's most likely you would not like my older music. As it just wasn't up to par in terms of quality. Using EastWest products instead of crappy synths and soundfonts has really allowed me to compose more towards the style I hear within my head. Thus my newer audio is far more representative of my skills and style as a composer.

-Gravey-

Isnt to bad, you can do another great pieces.

Thanks.

-Gravey-

why did you delete it

I've explained several times already to previous comments on this news page asking "Why did you delete your music. Please look above for the answer to your question.
