Ok Thumper...
I think that kick, was specially made to destroy all subwoofers that anyone ever accidentally plays this on. I know I was worried about crack my glass on my apartment. :-P
It's pretty loud in the beginning. You should really think about fixing that. Just way to in your face.
I like when the melody, if that is what it is, comes in. But the kick completely goes away. It shouldn't. There needs to be some sort of percussion going, and the kick should be doing something.
I love the buildup to the release at 1:53. That effect at 1:51 is amazing bud. Very very VERY cool. And the melody continues right along, which normally it would need a change. But it is so...Catchy...That I like it going along the way it is.
The little extras in the background are really cool, and you almost have to strain to hear them at times. I like that. I also like how things get louder and softer throughout the song. Nice dynamic range. Although, it is pretty elementary in the way you did it. It is still nice to see you use dynamics of some sort.
I really think this could be expanded on in so many ways. You could add new instruments, new melody lines and harmonies, and even new/more effects. Also, some more percussion would be nice. It doesn't have to be anything extravagant. But the kick alone just isn't quite enough to do it for me.
I'm not a fan of trance at all. But I'm trying to be objective in this review. Soooo...
4/5 and 7/10 overall. A good start, but definitely still more work to do.
