:-)
Simply put, I love this!
5/5 and 10/10 overall.
Yea, not one of my more in depth reviews. :-P

That's okay, short reviews are accepted!
I'm really glad that you liked it, I just wish that the score on the left agreed (3.85).
I don't think that there are enough people on this site that can appreciate this style of music. :'(
Thanks for the review!
<PS>
LAWL!
This is epic. Like seriously, simply epic.
Not much for me to say really. A fun little punk tune about, well, killing santa clause. I see no point in leaving some long and massive review on the music itself.
The entire feel of the song is awesome. And that is really the only thing that matters in this care.
5/5 and 10/10 overall.
-Gravey-
Hahaha thanks!!!
:-)
God I love Awoken. And this doesn't really do it justice. But you worked with what you had at your disposal, so I can't hate on ya for that too much. ;-)
Overall, well I don't know. I love Heaven Shall Burn, A LOT! So, yea, doesn't really do it for me. I personally don't think covering metal bands is a good idea, unless you are making a different form of metal.
There just really needs to be some guitars in this to make it up to par. At least for my taste. I know you don't exactly have those capabilities, but all the same. You win some, and you lose some.
But I'll give ya a decent score for putting forth the effort. I just can't give you a great score.
3/5 and 5/10 overall.
-Gravey-
1. there are no guitars in awoken. 2. i need someone to make me the string pattern in the background of the original. you are pretty good with orchestra stuff so if you get a chance, please make me that and I'll put it into the song
--EDIT--
Not to mention that i never really got that in to music creation until i started messin with fl a little while back. I have no idea how to distinguish tones by ear lol so just getting the melody right was good enough for me
Interesting...
I like the piano run. It is pretty straight forward, yet relaxing. It also helps keep the beat in the beginning when there is no percussion.
I really like the bass, it sounds REALLY good. Whatever you did with it, spot on work man.
I'm not really sure I would consider this ambient. But then again, I'm not sure what else it would be considered. It does have an ambient feel to it, with the pads and all. But the piano and drums give me more of a trance sort of feel.
But that is just me.
Overall this is pretty good, especially considering you are still stuck using only the demo.
5/5 and 9/10 overall. You are really progressing as a writer bud.
-Gravey-
this is another song i made as background music. so thats why its ambient
I Like It...
...A LOT! (Although, it has a weird effect on me emotionally.)
You really write piano stuff well my friend. It is very soothing, and relaxing in every way. And the chord structure really creates an almost loving atmosphere.
The flute is fucking beautiful! I LOVE the flute. It is perfect for this song! Simply gorgeous!
This really flows together so nicely too man. It has this aura to it that really warms my heart. And really, it isn't a feeling I enjoy very much. So I am feeling very uncomfortable with it at the moment. But, for most people, it would REALLY be a treat.
I'll just say, I don't tap into this side of my emotional range often. (Remember how I said this has a weird effect on me emotionally? Yea, this is what I was meaning by that.)
This is beautiful. Simply superb my friend!
5/5 and 10/10 overall. I'm not sure I could ever listen to it again though. Makes me think, well of people long lost. People I REALLY wish I could get back in my life.
-Gravey-
Thanks again for reviewing it!!! I know it isn't the most positive song and maybe it's even a little depressing. But hey, sometimes we gotta do what we gotta do!
I'm really happy with the flute aswel! I felt like it just all came together when I added it!
Thanks and cya!
Cheerio
Right Genre...
...so don't change it. :-P
I'm not sure what I think of this really. Ya know how much I likes your muzacs, but this one isn't quite doing it for me. I'm not sure why really. It just kinda feels like, well, you let some things slide in this one.
First off, I'm not crazy about the melody. Pretty mundane if you ask me. The violin is not doing it for me at all. I do like the echo responses you wrote though. That is very nifty.
I hear quite a flurry in the piano in the background around 1:45. And you know how much me loves the piano diddies. Me likes that little section because of it.
I think something that annoyed me was the percussion. Typically I love your percussion sounds and rhythms. You are always so original with them, and come up with new ideas and flavors. But the drums are very mediocre this time around for you.
So yea, sorry to be so glum on this song. But really, I'm just not crazy about this one. :-/
Now that being said, after eight votes your score is still 5.00. I'm not gonna fucking ruin the streak you got going on here!
5/5 and 7/10 overall. That is such a weird score! o_O
-Gravey-
haha it's quite alright that you don't like it, i made this last night at 3 in the morning, and i'm still not so strong in using the Fruity Slicer.
I listen to it now... I don't like it either P:
When I did it, I recorded my electric violin and used the recorded .wav's.... but then that just didn't sound right, electric violins aren't meant to sound full or anything i guess. So then I transferred them over to soundfonts, and that killed the sound.
Meh we'll let the public decide.
I am however, quite happy with the piano and *harp, that came out good xD
:-D
What can I say?! I'm just glad you trust me enough to ask me for help. :-)
And btw, it is called "Tinkle" in Fruity Loops. Not "Twinkle." Because it has the same sound that is made when you tinkle all over someone's forehead while they are sleeping. Seriously, try it sometime. That exact sound will come right out of the middle of nowhere! ;-)
I fucking love this bud. For real. This is not gonna be one of my better reviews. But it is definitely one of your better songs.
5/5 and 10/10 overall.
This has been favorited!
awww! you're so nice! notice i paradoxically gave you credit, by saying that i DIDN'T give you credit. ooohhhh.....spoooooky!
So i was thinking about stopping by walmart to get you that robe you so must have. what is you're waist size?
Oh I Can See This...
...in a Madness movie. Really it seems like it would fit in with that sort of story line animation very well.
The beats are pretty nifty, even if they are pretty straightforward. They are pretty much what you want for a song like this. Nice simple beat patterns that help push the song along at a nice pace. I also like the effects you put on them every now and then, like at 1:40.
The section after that is very rave-ish. At least in my opinion it is. I can see people gettin' down to this on the dance floor. It's up tempo, pretty groovy, and there is no real melody to distract the dancers from the beat. This just has a very good dance vibe to it.
Now all that said, it is pretty simple in it's creation. So I can't give it a great score, but this is definitely a good song. Soooooo....
4/5 and 8/10 overall. Nice work here.
-Gravey-
Lol, I agree with you completely. I don't usually do such dancy stuff, but this is what I felt like doing at the time so...
Also yeah, the melody is simple, that's why I thought you might not like this song.
In a Madness movie??? I would never have come to think of that... Mmmm maybe, why not. It's not very dark and urban like most songs from the Madness episodes, but I guess it has a flow that could suit gory death-battles.
Anyhow, thanx a bunch for reviewing my song! You might like my song "Indian Funeral", it relies more on melody. Though it's a fairly old song now.
Hmmm....
You need to replace the FL Slayer with a different guitar sample. Slayer just sounds so cheezy. Lol!
I like the strings. They create a pretty cool atmosphere in this song. They are rather epic in their own way. I really like them a lot. So don't change or get rid of the strings!
I love that effect at the 0:31ish mark. Very cool sounding, and it really grasps your attention. Plus it is surprising. Which is always fun for a listener.
It is pretty short. I suggest lengthening it myself. But, that is up to you really.
The percussion is pretty simple and straightforward. Yet, it is just right for this song. I like what you have going on actually.
Overall I like this, but there is definitely work to be done.
4/5 and 7/10 overall. I see potential in this actually. :-)
-Gravey-
haha, it's not FL slayer ^^ it's a guitar sample.
percussion is simple only for getting a simple backstage in :D i didn't add any stuff in that so much...
but i think i finish this one and i fill the places what needs some stuff in it. i see this is an empty project for me, what needs to be finished.
Wow Sir...
As always, I'm simply amazed with your music. You have a very unique picking style, which I think I've said before. But I don't feel bad repeating myself. I can't emphasize that fact enough.
I love the overall timbre of this song. God it is so warm and affectionate, yet still somewhat distant and cold in areas. It takes some real skill to do that my friend. And I'm really impressed.
You should add some congos into the mix. That would be such a magnificent touch. Just a real slow beat or two, to give it that extra little bit of flavor.
As it is though, man this is beautiful. I REALLY like it. Between you and gOrc, I can definitely get my acoustic fix here on Newgrounds. He creates visuals in my head a lot more than you. But I really enjoy your unique picking style. (Hmmmm, Me think there should be a collab of some sort between you two.) ;-)
But in all seriousness, I really like this a lot.
5/5 and 10/10 overall.
This has been favorited.
-Gravey-
not enought he's the king of soundtrack he's the king of reviews! congos....i guess i'll stick to strings and guitar for now till i figure to do decent beat in garage band.
thanks much for the nice words again!
